B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence & Data Science has established in the year 2021 in Sree Rama Engineering College with an intake of 60 with the objective of imparting quality education in the emerging field of Artificial Intelligence & Data Science. Department is strengthened with committed, dedicated, well qualified and professionally active faculty members to train students towards their holistic development. Majority of the staff are pursuing Ph.D. in emerging areas like AI, ML, Data Science, and Data Mining. Department has well equipped laboratories with latest high tech hardware and software facilities as well. The department has state of the art infrastructure and computing equipment supported by high speed Ethernet and wireless networks. Various activities are conducted in collaboration with professional bodies like CSI. Students are encouraged to participate in prestagious Hackathons and cope with project based learning.

To become a renowned center of excellence in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science to cater the needs of industry and society by empowering the students with ethical values, a high degree of academic excellence and research aptitude.

Mission

M1. Adopt best teaching-learning practices, and train the students in the state-of-the-art technologies of Artificial Intelligence & Data Science to bridge the gap between academia and industry.

M2. Impart innovation and research aptitude among the students through project-based learning and empowering them with problem-solving, analytical skills using the latest tools in the area of Artificial Intelligence & Data Science.

M3. Foster the students to solve societal issues through artificial intelligence and data science techniques by inculcating human values and ethics.

The Programme Educational Objectives of the B.Tech in Artificial Intelligence & Data Science programme are given below and are numbered from PEO1 to PEO3.

PEO1: Design and develop solutions for societal and business related real-world problems as skilled professionals.

PEO2: Able to analyze and apply the decision making and prediction skills in AI & DS to formulate and solve complex intelligent computing and multidisciplinary problems.

PEO3: Engage in constructive research, professional development and life-long learning to adapt with emerging tools and technologies by adhering ethical values and social responsibility.

Program Outcomes (Po)

On successful completion of the Program, the graduates of B. Tech. (AI & DS) Program will be able to:

  • PO1. Engineering knowledge: Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.
  • PO2. Problem analysis: Identify, formulate, review research literature, and analyse complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.
  • PO3. Design/development of solutions: Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.
  • PO4. Conduct investigations of complex problems: Use research-based knowledge and research methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.
  • PO5. Modern tool usage: Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.
  • PO6. Engineer and Society: Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.
  • PO7. Environment and sustainability: Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.
  • PO8. Ethics: Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.
  • PO9. Individual and teamwork: Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
  • PO10. Communication: Communicate effectively on complex engineering activities with the engineering community and with society at large, such as, being able to comprehend and write effective reports and design documentation, make effective presentations, and give and receive clear instructions.
  • PO11. Project management and Finance: Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of the engineering and management principles and apply these to one’s own work, as a member and leader in a team, to manage projects and in multidisciplinary environments.
  • PO12. Life-long learning: Recognize the need for, and have the preparation and ability to engage in independent and life-long learning in the broadest context of technological change.

On successful completion of the B. Tech. (AI & DS) Program, the graduates will be able to:

PSO1: Apply statistical methods, mathematical concepts, use appropriate design principles, algorithms & data structures, DBMS notions, adopt modern tools and software development platforms for the analysis, design and development of models and solutions for versatile real-world problems.

PSO2: Demonstrate the knowledge of human cognition, artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, business intelligence and data engineering for designing intelligent systems and effectively presenting the results using appropriate data visualization tools and techniques.

PSO3: Practice a set of data science principles, tools, and techniques to model various societal and business problems, analyze them, and suggest a suitable solution useful for prediction and decision making.
